BELLS! version 2.36

THE STORY SO FAR.....
A long time ago, in a far off BBC micro computer,
a bell-ringing program was born. It was a simple
thing, just ringing the standard eight, and was only
about 15k of code. But I was proud of it.

In 1983, I rewrote and expanded it to use place
notation, and it held many methods on file. It even
had eight method splicing, blue line drawing, you could
call touches, ring any pair of bells, and watch the
St.Wally's ringers on screen, all twelve of them.

I moved bits of it to a Psion LZ64, but that wasn't
big enough, and I lost interest despite getting some
parts to run on a PC

After years in this wilderness, I got a Psion 3a and
thought "I reckon I can get this thing to ring bells", and
the rest is history.

Now in version 2.36, it can do all sorts of things, almost
all that version 1 on my old BEEB micro could do, plus my
infamous "bad striking" routine. And you can customise
it in a huge variety of ways.

There is now over 300k of source files, 200k of program
in 33 files, 49k of documentation files, and a database of
128 methods. The whole of "Diagrams" is here, as is the
"Ringing Diary" and quite a lot more. Plus you have access
to the microSIRIL libraries, all 10,000 methods.

You can ring 10-spliced touches, live or pre-programmed,
ring four of the bells yourself (beware, I mark your striking),
setup and hear erratic striking, ring call changes, draw
"blue lines", try ringing a graphical bell that you design,
plus more features than you can shake a stick at. You can
shout "Bob, go Original" if that turns you on. There's even
a simple touch-proving facility built in.

But the best part is it's still growing, thanks to all of you
who bought it....
