By using this software, you acknowledge that this is unfinished
software and that it may erase your internal disk, all your
ssd's, make a hole in the ozone layer, and chase both your wife

<PsiUUCP.txt V 0.50 97/11/09>

History-what does it do ?
*************************

Like many of us I guess, I use my psion every time I have a spare
minute, to increase my productivity. Many times while reading an
article, I started writing the answer straigth away, and then had
to import it in my email editor to format and send it. What a
waste of time !. Hence this (currently very limited) utility.
In order to be able to use it, you need a rmail/rnews-compatible
system. The output is a UUCP compliant DAT file and XQT header to
be sent with rmail and rnews, or sendmail. Tested with both under
Os/2. Write your message and then dump them in the outbound spool
on the main machine. The day we have a working tcp/ip stack on the
psion, that won't even be necessary anymore.
:-)

The Adressbook and the newsgroup manager are desperately simple.
In both case, it is a simple database with 2 fields: quick, and full.

When you write a mail, just enter the quick name (ie joe), and
the program will use the full name:
(ie. my.indian.friend@singing.wire.in.the.great.plain.net).
the program will search the database every time you enter an
address with no "@" in it. It means you can still enter normal
addresses, and no search is performed.

The newsgroup search functions much the same way. You enter a
small code (ie pprog) and the program will fill in the full name
(ie comp.sys.psion.programmer). In this case, the trigger of the
search is the fact that there is no '.' in the name.

In both cases, if the search is unsuccessful, I still let you
shoot yourself in the foot. One of the reason I chose to let the
header visible is precisely to allow modification. You should not
modify a finished news message (ie after leaving psiuucp).

A word of caution: if you have a tasklist manager, do NOT, repeat
NOT, as in NEVER, leave the database or editor via the manager,
come back to psiuucp and hit a key. If you do not exit the editor
or the database normally, the memory will be trapped and beyond
recovery. Soon or later, this means a software reset.

Important note:
***************
The program allows for *any* language to be used. if the language
of your choice is not provided, you can create an external module
which will contain it. In order to do so, you have to create an opo
module called "domoling". Refer to manual on how to create an OPO
module.
place it in the \OPO directory.
domoling will contain only one procedure, called, strangely enough,
initdomo. Here it is, just replace with your own language:

Proc initdomo:
 menu$(1)="Write"
 menu$(2)="Email" rem psion-e
 menu$(3)="NewsGroup" rem psion-n
 menu$(4)="Exit" rem psion-x
 menu$(5)="Configure"
 menu$(6)="Enter data" rem psion-d

 menu$(8)="Save config" rem psion-s
 menu$(9)="Manager"

 menu$(13)="Help" rem psion-?
 menu$(14)="Quit" rem psion-q
 menu$(15)="Infos" rem psion-i
help$(1)="This program will create a uucp message to be sent later by "
help$(2)="your main computer using sendmail/rmail/rnews or compatible"
help$(3)="system, maybe even from the Psion when it (finally :-)comes to "
 help$(4)="exist."
 diver$(1)="Enter file name: "

 diver$(3)="Login Name "

 diver$(9)="Problem"
diver$(10)="Please configure software prior to use"
diver$(11)="No matching newsgroup - most likely invalid"
diver$(12)="No matching address - most likely invalid address"
EndP

Note that the hotkeys will not be altered, so try and find names that
match the hotkeys.

Known bugs: the date field is not very rfc822 compliant.

The only thing I can guarantee is that this program will take up space on
your disk. The rest is beyond my control. Use it at your own risks,
i don't wanna hear about it.

Registration
************
This is not free software and it is copyrighted Thunus F. (C) 1997.

However, you can use it and distribute it free of charge providing that
all the files are distributed together. You are allowed to change the
archive type to whatever you like best and to add your bbs's tag in the
archive.

Installation
************
This archive should contain the following files:

UUCP.OPA The executable file
psiuucp.txt This file

The natural home of the files is \uucp. I have a \uucp for the
config files, the sig files, the app itself, etc. and a
\uucp\spool for the mail file. Do as you wish. if \uucp isn't
found, the program will default to \opd
