Any file stored on CompuServe with a .ZIP extension is a compressed archive,
containing one or more files. To use these files you must extract the files
with an "unzip" utility. There are unzip tools available for most operating
systems, so it may be most convenient to unzip files on another computer and
transfer the extracted file to your Psion.

However, it is possible to unzip on the Series 3/3a itself. To do so,
download these two files from CIS:PALMTOP, library 18: RUN.APP and UNZIP.IMG.

To download these files using the Psion Comms application...

 1)Logon to CompuServe
 2)GO CIS:PALMTOP
3)At Forum! prompt type LIB18 and press <Enter>
4)At Library ! prompt type BRO RUN.APP and press <Enter>
 5)At Disposition ! prompt type DOW PRO:YMODEM TYP:BIN and press <Enter>
6)CIS will ask the filename for your computer, use RUN.APP, press <Enter>
 7)Press <Psion-P>, choose _Ymodem (1K)_, press <Enter>
8)Press <Psion-R> and type \APP\ as the name of the *directory* where you
want the file, the leading backslash is critical.

...to download the second file make these changes...

4)At Library ! prompt type BRO UNZIP.IMG and press <Enter>

6)Cis will ask the filename for your computer, use UNZIP.IMG, press <Enter>

8)Press <Psion-R> and type \RUN\ as the name of the *directory* where you
want the file, the leading backslash is critical.

...after downloading both files logoff CompuServe and you should find these
two files on your Series 3a

  \APP\Run.app
  \RUN\Unzip.img

Install "Run.app" on your System screen with <Psion-I>. A new icon will
appear, with "Unzip" underneath. Select Unzip, press <Enter>, and this
dialogue will appear:

  Command line:
  Initial path:

On the "Command line" type the disk, directory and name of the file to
unzip. On the "Initial path" type the disk and directory where you want the
contents of the unzipped file placed. The "Internal disk" is called "M:"
in these dialogues. The directory used in the initial path must already
exist. Press <Enter> to extract the files.

For example...

  Command line: M:\WRD\Rdcis.zip
  Initial path: M:\WRD

...will extract all the files in "Rdcis.zip" to the \WRD\ directory on your
Internal disk. After you unzip the file you will find a file with a
.TXT, .DOC or .WRD extension that you can read in Psion Word, and it will
give you instructions for copying the other files to the correct locations.
